Transplant Experience You Can Trust

Temple Health has a history of excellence when it comes to organ transplantation. Our program performed Philadelphia’s first heart transplant in 1984, and since that time we have performed over 2,500 organ transplants.

Over the last three decades, Temple physicians, surgeons and medical staff have dedicated themselves to providing the best quality transplant care, consistently meeting or exceeding the national survival rates. In addition, our surgeons have pioneered methods to improve organ donor health and avoid post-transplant complications. The Temple Transplant team is dedicated to helping patients live longer, better lives.

Two Lives Changed: A Living Kidney Donation Story

When Megan was diagnosed with Nutcracker syndrome, she found healing at Temple Health. As part of her care journey, she learned about living kidney donation as an option — and decided to become a donor. Evelyn, a teenager living with kidney disease who needed dialysis regularly at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, received Megan's kidney. Though they were strangers, their lives became forever connected through transplant.
