Anjali Vaidya, MD, FACC, FASE, FACP, Director of the Advanced Pulmonary Hypertension, Right Heart Failure & Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension Program at Temple University Hospital, participated in a Q&A interview with Healio about pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). The series of six videos covered topics including the importance of early recognition/diagnosis, the potential of targeted treatments and era of innovation, and the use of technology. Dr. Vaidya specifically discussed the virtual echocardiography screening tool (VEST), which when incorporated into the electronic medical record (EMR) system, can generate accurate PAH risk scores – without the need for time-consuming manual calculations. The novel approach is the first of its kind in the field of pulmonary vascular medicine and was developed by Dr. Vaidya and physicians at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.
