Temple University Health System’s preparations for and treatment of patients amidst the coronavirus pandemic continue to be part of the media’s COVID-19 coverage.

  • The Washington Post interviewed Jason C. Gallagher, PharmD, FCCP, FIDP, FIDSA, BCPS, Clinical Professor and Director of the Postgraduate Year Two Infectious Diseases Residency at the Temple University School of Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacist Specialist in Infectious Diseases at Temple University Hospital, about monoclonal antibodies and COVID-19. Dr. Gallagher discussed the logistics involved with monoclonal antibody treatment.
  • Martin Edelman, MD, Chair, Department of Hematology/Oncology, Fox Chase Cancer Center, provided expert commentary to Medscape for a story stating that a COVID-19 booster shot may be beneficial for patients with cancer who are undergoing treatment.
  • Chau Che, MD, spoke with MedPage Today about the 2-minute strategy she has used to convince her patients to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Che said the method has worked with about 8 in 10 patients and encouraged health care providers in all specialties to bring up the topic with their patients.
