The April 25th meeting will be held in-person at Temple Health Oaks. Dr. Francis Cordova, Professor of Medicine at Temple University and Medical Director of the Lung Transplant Program at Temple University Hospital, will speak on Lung Transplantation. Dr. Cordova will discuss the selection process involved in a lung transplant and the testing that is done to determine a patient's suitability to receive a lung transplant.
Since Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD) is an uncommon condition, patients may benefit from connecting with others who have the same diagnosis. Offered through the Alpha-One Foundation, and supported by Temple's Dr. Frederich Kueppers, this group is dedicated to providing support, education and information to people affected by AATD. This support group meets several times throughout the year.
