Ver esta página en español >

Temple’s Diabetes Prevention Program is for people who have pre-diabetes (meaning they do not yet have diabetes). During the program’s 25 classroom sessions, a trained lifestyle coach will teach you and a small group of classmates about:

  • How to make healthier food choices
  • The importance of staying physically active
  • Other behavior changes that can help prevent diabetes

This year-long program starts with 16 weekly sessions for the first 6 months. That is followed by 2 sessions per month for the second 6 months.

The goals of the Diabetes Prevention Program are to:

  • Lose 5% to 7% of your body weight

  • Gradually increase your physical activity to 150 minutes per week
