The Temple News Highlights Congressman Brendan Boyle Securing Federal Funding for Philadelphia Healthy and Safe Schools Program

Pennsylvania Congressman Brendan Boyle secured $1.5 million in federal funding for the Philadelphia Healthy and Safe Schools program, or PHASeS, a trauma-informed schools initiative facilitated and partially funded by Temple University on five School District of Philadelphia campuses. The funding will go toward strengthening access to critical mental and behavioral health resources. Mary Beth Hays, LSW, Assistant Professor in Urban Health and Population Science and in the Center for Health Justice and Bioethics at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, was interviewed by The Temple News about the program, which was established in the Center for Health Justice and Bioethics in 2018.
