The Shapiro-Davis administration announced nearly $3 million in federal funding for hospital-based violence intervention programs (HVIPs) on Dec. 10. The grantees, including Temple University Hospital (TUH), were approved by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). TUH received $875,000 to launch its Wellness and Recovery through Advocacy and Patient Support (WRAPS) project. This project will support three new positions – a victim advocate specializing in spinal cord injury survivors, a visiting nurse providing in-home care, and a trauma therapist delivering mental health services. The Philadelphia Inquirer highlighted the news.
