A Philadelphia Inquirer analysis compared Philadelphia health systems’ average operating profits in the three fiscal years before the COVID-19 pandemic to the results in the most recent three fiscal years. Gerald P. Oetzel, MBA, Temple Health’s Chief Financial Officer, said H.R. 1, the Reconciliation Bill of 2025, and related federal Medicaid cuts will cost Temple Health an estimated $519 million over a 10-year period starting in 2026.
