Philadelphia magazine’s editorial lead in its “Top Doctors” issue featured short vignettes from the perspective of health care workers on what it actually feels like to be dispensing care during some of life’s most extraordinary and challenging moments. Temple Health was represented not only in the lead editorial photograph but also through the following short stories:
• Rachel N. Criner, Assistant Professor of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, on “What It’s Like to Say Yes to a Lung Transplant Candidate Patient After Everyone Else Has Said No”
• Hazel Mack, DD, Staff Chaplain at Temple Health, on “What It’s Like to Pray With a Patient”
• Christopher G. Cann, MD, Director of the Young Adult Cancer Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center, on “What It’s Like to Give Bad News and Good News to a Cancer Patient”
