Criner, MD, FACP, FACCP, Chair and Professor of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Director of the Temple Lung Center, offered comments to Reuters Health for an article about initiating chronic non-invasive ventilation at home for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and stable hypercapnic respiratory failure. The study, which was conducted by researchers in the Netherlands, was published online in the journal Thorax. Dr. Criner was not involved in the research.
