Eric Balaban, MD, a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellow at the Temple Lung Center, spoke with The Philadelphia Inquirer about a recent report from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) which shows a significant increase in vehicle emissions and a detrimental impact on the city’s air quality following a decrease in public transportation services from SEPTA. Dr. Balaban also discussed the health effects of poor air quality on vulnerable populations.
