Philadelphia Inquirer Article Highlights Temple’s Efforts at Fighting the Opioid Epidemic

The Philadelphia Inquirer interviewed Steven R. Carson, RN, BSN, MHA, Vice President of Population Health for Temple University Health System, and Patrick Vulgamore, MPH, Project Manager of the Temple Center for Population Health, as part of an article about how the city plans to address the opioid epidemic in 2020. The piece highlighted the hub that Temple has created with help from a large state grant, as well as its increase in buprenorphine prescribing by 70 percent and the growth of its outpatient treatment slots from 11 new patients a month to 116.
