View All News

The Philadelphia Business Journal reported on the unprecedented financial pressures Temple Health will face as a result of H.R. 1, the Reconciliation Bill of 2025 and related federal Medicaid cuts. The coverage prominently pointed out that the federal bill and Medicaid cuts will cost Temple Health an estimated $519 million over a 10-year period starting in 2026. The stories also highlighted a series of steps Temple Health is making to strengthen its financial stability in the face of these challenges, including implementing a salary freeze for members of its senior executive team; expanding its transplant program; opening Temple Women & Families Hospital and the resulting additional space for medical/surgical and intensive care unit beds at TUH-Main Capus that it will create; and bringing cancer care closer to patients by establishing Fox Chase Cancer sites like Voorhees and at Temple Health - Chestnut Hill Hospital, and expanding services at Fox Chase Cancer Center – Buckingham. Michael A. Young, MHA, FACHE, President and CEO of Temple Health, was interviewed for the report.
