Lohud.com spoke with 21-year-old Megan Bosack, who donated her kidney to 17-year-old Evelyn Bautista on April 7th. The two, who didn’t know each other’s identities, shared a memorable first meeting at Temple University Hospital (TUH) on April 25th. The memorable meeting also included Evelyn’s mother; Megan’s parents; Living Donor Coordinator John Mulligan; and Kenneth Chavin, MD, MBA, PhD, FACS, Director of the Abdominal Organ Transplant Program at TUH. Antonio Di Carlo, MD, CM, FACS, FRCSC, Chief of Abdominal Organ Transplant Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Surgical Director of Kidney, Liver and Pancreas Transplantation and Living Donation at TUH, was also involved in the surgery.
