Temple Health and 6ABC-TV collaborated on a sponsored segment about one way to treat heart failure – a heart transplant. Temple, which has expanded heart transplant guidelines, has the best one-year survival in the region at 98 percent and is the fastest list to transplant. The segment featured Eman A. Hamad, MD, FACC, FHFSA, Director of the Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Program and the Cardio-Oncology Program and Medical Director of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program at Temple University Hospital, Program Director of the Heart Failure & Transplant Fellowship, and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, as well as patient Heinz Heiduk.
