Medscape Interviews Dr. Andrew Gangemi on His Research Presented at ERS Examining Two Objective Recommended Measures of COPD

Medscape interviewed Andrew J. Gangemi, MD, Associate Professor of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, about his research presented at the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Congress that examined two objective recommended measures of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The modified Medical Research Council questionnaire (mMRC) and COPD Assessment Test (CAT) are recommended for use to inform initial and long-term therapy, but both scores were developed and validated outside the United States with somewhat homogeneous populations. Gangemi’s research found similar correlation between the two scores for both white and Black populations.
