Amy J. Goldberg, MD, FACS, Interim Dean and George S. Peters, MD and Louise C. Peters Chair and Professor of Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Surgeon-in-Chief of Temple Health, and Jessica H. Beard, MD, MPH, FACS, Assistant Professor of Surgery and Director of Trauma Research at the Katz School of Medicine, were each interviewed following the shooting of 21 people at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. Dr. Goldberg spoke with WURD Radio about what bullets do to bodies, while Dr. Beard spoke with WHYY for an article about how to help children process gun violence, whether the incidents are local to the Philadelphia area or national like in Texas.
