The Student Diversity Council at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, in partnership with the Temple Surgery diversity committee, hosted “North Philly Flex,” a special event aimed at supporting the local community Black- and Hispanic-owned businesses, on May 9. The community vendor fair featured more than 20 local vendors on site at the Katz School of Medicine. Randolph B. Lyde Jr., MD, PhD, Founder of the Student Diversity Council and Katz School of Medicine Class of 2022, was interviewed by FOX29, KYW Newsradio and Al Día. KYW also spoke with Dominique Edwards, owner of Deame’s Bettah Buttah, and Atiyah Angela Havens, owner of Amatullah’s Treasures, while Al Día talked to Erika L. Stewart, owner of Social Impact Café; Geneva Pugh, owner of Sprinter Cosmetics; and Arielle Johnson, owner of Amalgam Comics and Coffeehouse.
