View All News

Grace X. Ma, PhD, Associate Dean of Health Disparities, Director of the Center for Asian Health, Laura H. Carnell Professor and Professor of Clinical Sciences at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM), was the senior author of a culturally tailored intervention to improve HPV screening among low-income Asian-American women. The screening significantly increased awareness and willingness to conduct a self-sampling test. Lin Zhu, PhD, Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Center for Asian Health at LKSOM, was first author on the report. The results were presented at the 12th American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Conference on the Science of Cancer Health Disparities in Racial/Ethnic Minorities and the Medically Underserved. The AACR published a press release about the findings on its website and Medical Xpress also covered the research.
