Yoshiya Toyoda, MD, PhD, William Maul Measey Chair and Professor of Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University; Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery, Surgical Director of Thoracic Transplantation and Director of Mechanical Circulatory Support at Temple University Hospital; and Co-Surgical Director of the Temple Heart and Vascular Institute, offered insight to the Philadelphia Inquirer on the TransMedics Organ Care System for Heart, or OCS Heart, which he used in a previous trial when he was working at UPMC in Pittsburgh.
