Thomas Fekete, MD, Chair and Professor in the Department of Medicine and Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, provided commentary to the Philadelphia Inquirer on fosfomycin (Contepo), an antibiotic that has been used in hospitals in Europe and Asia but not in the United States – yet. The drug is awaiting U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval.
