Terrence Habiyaremye, MD, Emergency Medicine Resident at Temple University Hospital, wrote an article for the Philadelphia Inquirer about the importance of swim instruction for children. Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional death in children, and children of color have significantly higher rates of death by drowning than white children.
