Sara Goldrick-Rab, PhD, Professor of Sociology and Medicine at Temple University and Founding Director of the Hope Center for College, Community and Justice at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, was interviewed for an Inside Higher Ed piece about a new report analyzing a micro-grant program at Georgia State University. The piece also cited a randomized-control trial conducted by the Hope Center in December 2021 which examined outcomes of 11 university grant programs, not including Georgia State’s. The report found “no evidence of positive impacts on academic outcomes.”
