Samantha Pettigrew, MD, Assistant Professor of Clinical Thoracic Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, offered insight about asthma to the Chestnut Hill Local. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) recently released its 2026 Asthma Capitals report. Each year, the AAFA ranks the 100 most populous contiguous U.S. cities based on asthma prevalence, asthma emergency visits and asthma-related deaths. Philadelphia is ranked No. 4.
