Dr. Samantha Pettigrew Discusses Lung Disease in Women with Pulmonology Advisor

Samantha Pettigrew, MD, Assistant Professor of Clinical Thoracic Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, offered comments to Pulmonology Advisor about the growing evidence showing that conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) can present and progress differently in women, with unique symptom profiles, triggers and risk factors. Dr. Pettigrew told Pulmonology Advisor that current guidelines do not adequately cover the ways in which many airway diseases present in women.
