Neena Mohan, MD, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, offered insight for a HealthCentral article on a new meta-analysis published in the journal eClinicalMedicine on updated colorectal cancer risk in patients with ulcerative colitis. Ulcerative colitis is a form of inflammatory bowel disease that affects the colon and the rectum and has long been known to increase a person’s chances for developing colorectal cancer. Mohan was not involved in the study.
