Kun He Lee, MD, Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, provided perspective for a Popular Mechanics article about hemispatial neglect. Hemispatial neglect is a neurological condition that can occur after a stroke where a person becomes unaware of half of their reality because their brain has stopped processing that half. This can manifest as either being unaware of half of their own body, or half of the world around them. Other symptoms may include memory distortion, visual impairment and difficulty reading, writing, dressing, eating and navigating.
