Krunal Patel, MD, a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellow at the Temple Lung Center, participated in a video interview with HCPLive at the ATS International Conference on his research which found that sotatercept initiation in patients with Group 3 chronic lung disease-related pulmonary hypertension was associated with improvement in multiple clinical and hemodynamic metrics. This highlights sotatercept’s potential clinical utility beyond Group 1 PAH and supports the need for prospective studies evaluating its role in Group 3 PH, which is associated with poor prognosis, progressive function decline and limited therapeutic options.
