View All News

The Tribune-Democrat highlighted a living kidney donation case at Temple University Hospital in which patient Tiffany Weigle donated her kidney to a stranger in order to resolve her nutcracker syndrome. Kenneth Chavin, MD, MBA, PhD, FACS, Director of the Abdominal Organ Transplant Program at Temple University Hospital, explained that nutcracker syndrome is a rare condition that can cause chronic pain and removing the otherwise healthy kidney for donation creates a rare “win-win” scenario for two people who are suffering. Yahoo! News and Mahoning Matters picked up the article.
