Joseph Thoder, MD, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Program Director of Hand Surgery at Temple University Hospital, was interviewed by the Athletic about the hand injury sustained by Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, who tore the radial collateral ligament of the fourth metacarpal in his left hand and underwent surgery. Dr. Thoder, who did not treat Embiid, discussed recovery from such an injury.
