Jessica H. Beard, MD, MPH, FACS, Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of Trauma Research at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, spoke with the “Trauma Code” podcast and Billy Penn about the public health approach to gun violence. Dr. Beard, who is also the Director of Research at the Philadelphia Center for Gun Violence Reporting and a Stoneleigh Foundation fellow, also discussed research by her team that has examined how shooting events are reported in public news media.
