View All News

Jean-Pierre Issa, MD, Professor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Director of the Fels Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Biology, spoke to NBC News for a piece about epigenetics, or how our health is molded by interactions between our DNA and the environment. The NBC News article described a new study that examined the offspring of Civil War Union soldiers and how the traumatic events they faced may have impacted the health of the following generation. Dr. Issa explained that he hopes epigenetics can one day offer distinct, individualized guidance on health-promoting tools.
