The LGBTQ+ community has higher rates of tobacco use, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and faces barriers to smoking cessation treatments. In the interview with PhillyVoice, Dr. Garfield advocated for multiple actions that could prevent tobacco-related illnesses and reduce barriers to smoking cessation in the LGBTQ+ community.
