CBS News Philadelphia highlighted the journey of 35-year-old Temple Lung Center patient, Kevin Christ, who threw out the first pitch at the Phillies game on Sept. 9. Mr. Christ was on supplemental oxygen his whole life until April 2025, when he received a double lung transplant performed by Yoshiya Toyoda, MD, PhD, Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery at Temple University Hospital. His pulmonologist, Gerard Criner, MD, FACP, FACCP, Director of the Temple Lung Center, was interviewed about Mr. Christ’s medical journey.
