A study by Cherie Erkmen MD, Professor of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, published in the Annals of Thoracic Surgery found that female heart surgeons take home much lower salaries. Cardiovascular Business highlighted the findings.
