A Cardiology Advisor article on tailoring strategies for anticoagulation in patients with compromised renal function highlighted a study led by Mingyue He, MD, Internal Medicine Resident at Temple University Hospital. Dr. He led a team which conducted a retrospective cohort of patients with end-stage kidney disease and atrial fibrillation and which found that anticoagulant use vs. non-use significantly increased the odds of hospitalization for gastrointestinal bleeding.
