Two hundred sixty-three hospitals in the United States – including Temple Health-Chestnut Hill Hospital – have a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection rate of zero, based on the health care-associated infections data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The measures – developed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and collected through the National Healthcare Safety Network – show how often patients contract certain infections during the course of medical treatment. Data was collected from October 2022 to September 2023 and was last updated July 31. Becker’s Clinical Leadership highlighted the news.
