View All News

The Associated Press highlighted Temple University Hospital’s (TUH) involvement in a pilot program called the Great Social Experiment, which is testing whether motivated, volunteer strangers can help improve the chances of finding a life-saving match for a new kidney — particularly for people with limited social networks. Ryan Ihlenfeldt, DNP, RN, CCRN, Director of Clinical Transplant Services at TUH, was interviewed about Temple’s success with the program, which has so far found two of the five patients a living kidney donor. The story was picked up by The Seattle Times, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, CBS News Philadelphia, The Financial Post, Connecticut Post, Yahoo, Fast Company, The Midland-Reporter Telegram, and The Messenger-Inquirer.
