Riyaz Bashir, MD, FACC, RVT, Professor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Director of Vascular and Endovascular Medicine at Temple University Hospital, along with Nicholas Green, Director of Research & Development at Thrombolex, Inc., developed two catheters that received U.S. Food and Drug Administration premarket notification clearance back in May. Now, the first patient has enrolled in the early feasibility and safety study investigating the Bashir Endovascular Catheter for the treatment of submassive pulmonary embolism.
