How to Prepare

Your doctor will give you instructions on how to prepare for a bronchoscopic procedure. Patients are usually told:

  • Don't eat or drink anything for six to twelve hours before the procedure
  • Don't take ibuprofen, aspirin, or other blood-thinning drugs before the procedure
  • Arrange for transportation to and from the hospital
