About the Program
The Diabetes Prevention Program is intended for individuals who are pre-diabetic. The program is held in a classroom setting by a trained lifestyle coach who will facilitate a small group of participants in learning about healthy eating habits, physical activity and other behavior changes over 25 sessions. The year-long program consists of 16 weekly sessions for the first six months followed by two sessions per month in the second six months.
The goals of the Diabetes Prevention Program are:
Lose 5 - 7% of your body weight
Gradually increase your physical activity to 150 minutes per week
