Get the Best Care for Kids

Temple can help you find the right care at the right time for your kids.

Access to health care can be a challenge. We understand.

You work hard. You want the best for your children. We do, too.

We want to help you make the choices that are right for you — and best for your children. We offer you the following information to help make finding accessible pediatric care a little easier.

3 Easy Steps to Follow

Have a Regular Doctor

You already know that the best care comes from someone who knows your child and their medical history. A primary care doctor can provide preventative care, which is the best care you can provide for your child.

  • Having a primary care doctor can help prevent sickness before it starts.
  • They can help manage chronic disease and coordinate specialty care.
  • They can also provide health screenings, immunizations, weight management and non-emergency sick visits.

Know Where to Go

A primary care provider is the best place for your kids to get the care they need. There are so many good choices nearby for you and your child.

It can be complicated in Philadelphia to get the best care for your child when your doctor’s office is closed. Be empowered to ask your primary care doctor for a plan to help you know where to go.

In most cases, minor issues like ear aches, rashes or colds are best looked after by a primary care doctor or a provider at a community health center.

Always call 911 if your child is experiencing a medical emergency.

Look below for area primary care offices, community health centers, urgent care centers and pediatric emergency room options.

Stay Connected

It’s important to stay in contact with your child’s primary care doctor.

  • Your primary care office has a phone number to reach someone day or night.
  • They can guide you when your child’s temperature is high, when their cough is severe, or when non-life-threatening symptoms have you worried.
  • Check in with your primary care office before and after a visit to an emergency room
