Temple University Hospital – Jeanes Campus Physician Recognized as “Everyday Hero” by Pennsylvania Medical Society

Dr. Syed Moez Shah Bukhari

Syed Moez Shah Bukhari, MD, an internal medicine physician with Temple University Hospital – Jeanes Campus has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) as its October 2021 Everyday Hero Award recipient.

Upon receiving the award, Dr. Bukhari said, “Medicine is my passion. This award is a motivation for me to work hard, grow, get better at mentorship, and excel in my field. This award is a reminder that hard work pays off.”

After graduating from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Pakistan with a specialty in internal medicine, Bukhari finished his residency from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – McKeesport Hospital. He then spent two years as a cardiac amyloidosis fellow at the Heart and Vascular Institute, University of Pittsburgh before joining Temple University Hospital.

“We are proud that Dr. Bukhari has been selected as a recipient of the Pennsylvania Medical Society’s Everyday Hero Award,” said Marc P. Hurowitz, DO, MBA, FAAFP, Executive Director of Temple University Hospital – Jeanes Campus and Chief Executive Officer of Temple Physicians, Inc. “The Everyday Hero Award honors physicians who go above and beyond in providing care to their patients, and Dr. Bukhari is the embodiment of those ideals. We congratulate him on earning this well-deserved honor.”

Throughout the years, Dr. Bukhari has received numerous research awards during his training and internal medicine residency.

He attributes his success to his late father.

“My father was my idol. My guide, my mentor and best friend. I strive to be as great a doctor and human as my father.”

PAMED’s Everyday Hero Award, launched in 2018, is designed to showcase talented physicians who go above and beyond in their profession and in providing patient care.
