Shaniya Gunyea-Carter and Daisy Medina Earn the TFP C.A.R.E.S. Award

Daisy Medina and Shaniya Guynea-Carter were honored with the December 2025 Temple Faculty Physicians C.A.R.E.S. (Category Exemplified in Action: Compassion, Advocacy, Respect, Excellence, and Service) Award, which honors the outstanding contributions of clinical and administrative staff. 

Shaniya is a Medical Assistant in the TMS-Pulmonary Department, and Daisy is a Comprehensive Scheduler in the Dermatology Department. They were nominated by their peers and endorsed by TFP leadership for their commitment to excellence. Working with her Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week, has been an absolute pleasure and a true example of teamwork at its best. 

Daisy’s compassion and respect for our patients sets her apart. She consistently delivers service that reflects our highest standards of care. Whether assisting with scheduling, resolving appointment concerns, or helping a patient navigate challenges, Daisy handles every situation with grace, empathy, and professionalism. Her ability to smooth out any issue, while ensuring patients feel valued and understood, demonstrates her exceptional skill and dedication. Her excellence not only enhances the patient experience, but also uplifts her colleagues and strengthens our entire team. She truly represents the spirit of compassion, respect, and commitment that defines our workplace.”
