Paw-liday Cheer Takes over TUH-Main Campus at Happy Holidogs Event

View All News

TUH-Main Campus hosted its annual Happy Holidogs celebration on December 12th. Organized by the campus’ Office of Patient Experience, it was a chance for staff to relax and spend time with adorable dogs—all of which were up for adoption!

Temple Health team members—and adoptable dogs—were all smiles at this year’s Happy Holidogs event!

Several local rescues attended the event, including Morris Animal Refuge, Philly Bully Team, the Pennsylvania SPCA, and Street Tails Animal Rescue. Team members were also excited to welcome a new partner organization: Home at Last Dog Rescue

As always, Temple Health provided a donation to each rescue in attendance. “I’m so grateful that we’re able to support these shelters in this capacity, and bring awareness to all the animals who need forever homes,” shares Shamin Mathews, MSW, LSW, Manager of Community Engagement and Volunteer Services, who helped organize the event.

Philadelphia-area vendors Melmos Dog Treats, Bake My Day Cookies, and Bully Bows joined in the fun as well. Employees were also invited to pass out holiday cards to patients, and to write their pets’ name on an ornament to hang on a Christmas tree.

“It’s always meaningful to bring, and spread, holiday cheer to TUH,” says Mathews. “Seeing our team members’ faces light up as they spend time with snuggly pups is so heartwarming. There’s no better way to celebrate the spirit of the season!”
