Healing Happens Here: Temple Health Nurses and Hospital Week 2026 Recap

View All News

National Nurses and Hospital Week is a time to recognize the people who power Temple Health and make care possible every day. This year’s theme, “Healing Happens Here,” celebrated the compassion, teamwork, and expertise that employees across every campus bring to the communities we serve.

Together, National Nurses Week and National Hospital Week highlighted the dedication and leadership that define Temple Health. Nurses Week honored the essential role nurses play as clinicians, advocates, and caregivers, while Hospital Week recognized the collective efforts of employees across clinical, operational, and support roles, reinforcing that healing happens through collaboration across the entire health system.

A Week of Celebration Across our Campuses

Across Temple Health campuses, Nurses and Hospital Week came to life through meals and special treats including soft pretzels and Mister Softee, chair massages, therapy dog visits, raffles and sound healing.

Temple’s Got Talent showcased the creativity, energy, and personality of our teams, highlighting the many talents that live beyond our roles. Temple Health’s Main Campus runner-up winners Zadith Pino, Delia Earley, and April Wood were inspired by their dancing at the Holiday Party to team up and do a Michael Jackson dance melody, just in time for the new movie to launch.

“I like to see smiles, and I love to see them feel appreciated,” Zadith Pino, Associate Vice President of Temple’s Lung Center stated when asked what Temple Nurses and Hospital week meant to her.

Temple Health also celebrated Florence Nightingale’s birthday,a nursing hero considered the founder of modern nursing, who is known for transforming the profession through establishing nursing education, and advocating for patient-centered, evidence-based care.

“We honor Florence Nightingale’s Birthday to show our appreciation. We give birthday cakes to all the hospitals,” said Ercele P. Reyes, Director of Nursing SVCS, “The way Temple celebrates Nurses week is grand,” talking about the luncheons, breakfasts, and even Nursing Night at the Phillies. Campuses also paused to honor excellence with nursing certification breakfasts and recognition ceremonies.
