Lovejoy Paltu-Ob, RN Earns TUH-Main Campus’ Service Excellence Employee of the Month Award

Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) nurse Lovejoy Paltu-Ob, RN was recently honored with the Service Excellence Employee of the Month Award at TUH-Main Campus. Lovejoy was recognized for embodying Temple Health’s values—providing outstanding care while also serving as a mentor and a leader—as this excerpt from her nomination shows:

“Lovejoy Paltu-Ob exemplifies the highest standards of nursing excellence, leadership, and patient advocacy in her role as Charge Nurse on the IMCU. She consistently serves as the first ‘go-to’ resource for team members, providing calm, knowledgeable guidance in complex clinical and operational situations. Staff rely on her clinical judgment, situational awareness, and ability to coordinate care efficiently during high-acuity and high-volume shifts. 

At the bedside, Lovejoy delivers exceptional, compassionate care that patients and families frequently recognize and praise. She demonstrates a remarkable ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and ensure patients feel heard and respected during vulnerable moments. Her presence reassures patients while reinforcing a culture of dignity, safety, and therapeutic engagement.  

Lovejoy is the ultimate patient advocate. She consistently speaks up to ensure care plans reflect patient needs, removes barriers to safe discharge and treatment adherence, and collaborates effectively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes. Her advocacy extends beyond individual encounters, as she works to ensure system processes support equitable, patient-centered care.
