The Temple Heart and Vascular Institute has received grants from “WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease” to support Temple University Hospital’s membership in the WomenHeart National Hospital Alliance (NHA). The NHA is made up of a network of hospitals that seeks to ensure that women who are living with heart disease have access to information, education and patient support services. Deborah L. Crabbe, MD, FACC, FAHA, Professor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, was quoted in the Philadelphia Sunday Sun, which covered the announcement, and also discussed what this could potentially mean for the women of North Philadelphia in an appearance on WURD Radio (96.1 FM/900 AM).
