Dr. Gordon Morewood Discusses Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Anesthesia Services Plan with CNN

Gordon H. Morewood, MD, MBA, FASE, Chair and Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and Anesthesiologist-in-Chief of Temple University Health System, spoke with CNN about a plan by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance representing Connecticut, New York and Missouri to deny any claims for anesthesia services that exceed specific time limits that have been set for surgeries and procedures. Dr. Morewood is also Vice Chair of the American Society of Anesthesiologists’ Committee on Economics and recently participated in a meeting between the Society and Anthem executives. Several other outlets, including Yahoo News and tv stations in Tampa and Raleigh picked up the CNN coverage.
