Dr. Anahita Deboo Joins Temple's Department of Neurology

Anahita Deboo, MD

Anahita Deboo, MDhas been appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and an attending physician at Temple University Hospital.

Dr. Deboo is board-certified in Neurology with added certification in Clinical Neurophysiology, Neuromuscular Medicine and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She earned her medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, PA, and completed a Neurology Residency and Neuromuscular/ Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Deboo has clinical and research interests in nerve conduction study and electromyography (EMG), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), motor neuron disease, diabetic polyneuropathy, myasthenia gravis, neuromuscular disease, neuropathy, myopathy, myositis, and muscular dystrophy.

Prior to joining Temple, Dr. Deboo was an attending neurologist and Director of the Electromyography Lab at Hahnemann University Hospital. She also was a Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at the Drexel University College of Medicine where she served as Director of the Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Program.  In addition, she was Co-Director of Drexel’s MDA-ALS Center of Hope, a national site for industry-supported clinical trials involving motor neuron disease.

Dr. Deboo is an active researcher with numerous clinical trials, presentations and publications to her name. She is a member of the ALS Hope Foundation, the American Academy of Neurology, the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the Philadelphia Neurologic Society, and the Northeast ALS Consortium.
